My Current Work

Kate has played the role of Esther Valentine on "The Young and the Restless" since 1982. In that time, Esther has been kidnapped twice, survived a pair of disastrous marriages, and even helped her employer (Jeanne Cooper) recover from a stroke and a bout with alcoholism. It's no wonder why this role earned Kate a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kate joins Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Jonathan Pryce, Rupert Everett, and Felicity Jones in the upcoming film "Hysteria," a romantic-comedy set in the Victorian era. Maggie's character has an unexpected love affair with her father's medical associate who, in the quest to cure women of hysterical fits, inadvertently invents the vibrator.
